The MB-102 Multi Base is a versatile accessory that allows you to sharpen tools on the flat side of Tormek’s diamond grinding wheels, producing a completely flat bevel ideal for certain knives and chisels. It is fully adjustable to fit the optimal sharpening position for each tool and jig. By converting horizontal mounts to vertical, it improves accessibility for edge-trailing knives and guided honing using knife jigs. Compatible with Tormek T-8, T-4, and older models, the MB-102 supports a wide range of jigs, including the KJ-45 Centering Knife Jig, KJ-140 Wide Centering Knife Jig, SVM-00 Small Knife Holder, SE-77 Square Edge Jig, SVS-38 Short Tool Jig, SVD-186 R Gouge Jig, SVS-50 Multi Jig, and SVD-110 Tool Rest.

Sharpening on the side of the diamond wheel ensures a flat bevel, whereas sharpening on the curved part produces a slightly concave bevel. This feature is recommended exclusively for diamond grinding wheels. The adjustable joint allows precise positioning for each tool and jig, and horizontal mounting converts to vertical for better ergonomics and edge-trailing sharpening techniques.
