Bands are inexpensive insurance against downspout blow-off, so plan two per story of pipe and anchor into solid framing, not just sheathing. Match the white galvanized band to painted or white downspouts for a clean finish. On masonry walls use masonry anchors; on siding, hit studs or blocking where possible.

Wear eye protection when drilling and driving fasteners to mount downspout bands.
