Combo tarps are a jobsite staple: keep one or two on hand to cover open roof decks, materials and equipment between weather events. Orient the brown side down for a low-visual-profile cover or green side down to blend with landscaping. Drape with slack rather than tension so water runs off instead of pooling, and always anchor at grommets, never through the fabric. For anything staying exposed for weeks, step up to a heavy-duty tarp.

Never use tarps as a walking surface on a roof; secure the tarp from a ladder or from safe ground positions and avoid working on wet, covered surfaces.
