Starter courses are often where roofs fail first at the eaves, so a purpose-made starter like the Windsor 212 is preferable to cut-up field shingles because its sealant and nailing zone are engineered for that role. Order one bundle per 70 linear feet plus waste for rakes. Match the color to your Windsor field shingles for a clean eave line.

Roof installation involves fall hazards; follow OSHA fall protection practices and manufacturer installation instructions.
