A brush- or trowel-grade mastic like this is the workhorse for flashings, seams and penetrations where a sheet or sealant bead is not practical. Its flexibility and elongation accommodate building movement and thermal cycling on both rubber and single-ply systems. Keep detail coats at the manufacturer’s recommended thickness and embed reinforcement where detailing calls for it.

Wear gloves and eye protection when handling mastic, and follow the safety data sheet for safe handling and application on the roof.
